Harry Potter inspiration as Cauldron Cakes take centre stage in New York high school

Early in June, Hendrick Hudson High School in New York hosted a Lumos Birthday Party. Flyers were distributed in advance, “Cauldron Cakes” were baked and sold during the school day, donations for admission to the party were requested and over $150 was raised in total!
Cassandra Rogers, who organised the event with her friend and chief associate, Sebastien Tirino said:
“I want to convey how great my classmates and I think that the cause is. They all were truly amazed at the efforts Lumos makes. Many of them are also big fans of Harry Potter and J K Rowling (myself included, as well as) and they would like to communicate to Lumos and its co-founder, J K Rowling, how much they appreciate what you are doing for children.
“The principal of our school was happy to see that we were willing to take on the initiative, and would like to continue hosting events to raise money for this fantastic cause. Now that we are familiar with Lumos and have advance notice, we will definitely organize another event in the coming school year.”
