Run the Marathon for Lumos

26 April 2010

Would you like to run the Virgin London Marathon for Lumos and raise thousands of pounds to put a stop to the systematic institutionalisation of disadvantaged children?

The Virgin London Marathon, which will be held on 24 April 2011, is one of the UK’s top annual events, attracting over 35,000 runners, and you could be one of them! Lumos has secured two places in next year’s race, which is run over 42.195 km (26 miles 385 yards), starting in Blackheath and finishing at Buckingham Palace.

Alternatively you could secure your own place by ballot. If you have a place, we would love you to join the Lumos team. The ballot for own place runners opens on 4 May 2010. Visit the Virgin London Marathon website to enter.

Whether you decide to put your name down for one of our places, or enter into the ballot, we will support you all the way. We will provide you with a free running vest, a dedicated member of staff who can advise on fundraising, tips and encouragement, and a cheer team on the day.

So why not take up the challenge of a lifetime and make a difference to the 1 million disadvantaged children in Europe who are locked away because of their backgrounds?

If you would like to be part of the Lumos team, simply email the fundraising team at fundraising@lumos.org.uk or call 020 7253 6565 to find out more.
